Lightweight construction
Advantages:
- very good thermal insulation despite low wall thickness
- short construction time
- less construction moisture
disadvantages
- lower sound insulation
- lower thermal insulation in summer
- changes to the load-bearing construction are more difficult
Solid construction
Advantages:
- good sound insulation
- better thermal protection in summer
- easier changes in the construction
- good thermal insulation with somewhat thicker walls
disadvantages
- higher wall thicknesses
- longer construction times
- changes to the load-bearing construction are more difficult
Mixed forms
If extensions with different stresses are required, as in our planning for Jochen Rieck’s butcher’s shop, a mixed form of lightweight and solid construction is recommended.
